I think pink is the most underestimated colour ever. It’s said to be the colour of little girls, nice and sweet. But when combined with black or grey all shades of pink get very sophisticated and cool. What a dream home! The Corkellis House designed by interior stylist Kathryn Tyler is a convincing mixture of Mid-Century modern furniture, clean lines, wood and concrete. I’m just loving everything about it – especially the dining room furniture! Via Design Attractor
Recently I came across this minimalistic coat stand designed by Peter van de Water for Cascando – and I was hooked. Simply placed against the wall and made of stainless steel combined with white powder-coating, it is suitable for eight to ten clothes hangers. I love the idea of having one for my bedroom so I could hang up my next day’s outfit the night before!

It was love at first sight with the apartment of Brazilian designer and architect Mauricio Arruda in São Paulo – a thrilling mixture of handpicked mid-century pieces and modern design. I especially love the vibrant colour of the green chairs around his “House of Cards Table”, it’s such a perfect refreshing contrast to the mid-century wooden sideboard. Via Yatzer.com.

A composition of calm but yet cool simplicty that’s how I would (try to) describe the home of architect Francisco Dias in Lugano… It seems like you can almost feel the laid-back atmosphere emerging from the perfect mixture of grey and white, wooden floors, plain walls and selected pieces of furniture. “Living In A Magazine” – that chorus from the old Zoot Woman’s song was flashing through my mind when I first saw the pictures of this fashionable home. I guess the owner of this apartment must just have left the scene on her 6-inch-Yves Saint Laurents on the way to her job as a fashion editor, haha. Anyway, I’m loving the glamorous mixture of black, white and gold here! (Note to myself: Buy some white lilies!) Via Bolaget.
Oh my, I’d love to decorate my workplace with those clean and simple desk accessories from Fashioned By, which was formed in 2011 as a collaboration between Farrah Sit and Dana D’Amico who designed together for Calvin Klein Home. Maybe THIS finally would give me a reason to keep my desk organized (it’s always pretty a mess!)
Striking idea from Super-Light: The two German designers Yvonne Fehling and Jennie Peiz developed a mobile lamp with silk-covered chords that can be arranged in many different ways. The picture of that incredible easy chair from my latest post kept haunting me all night long, so today my mission was to find out more about it, and… drum rolls… it is called Mollis and comes from the young Swedish brand RVW, founded by Johannes Herbertsson and Jonas Nordgren in 2009. Mollis’ slender wooden seat is made from moulded veneer and available in either stained or transparent lacquer finish, while the seat pad can be upholstered in fabric or leather. The chair sits upon a double cross steel leg frame and you can choose between a powder coated or a brushed finish. Orders can be handled through their office in Sweden. (pictures Bolaget & RVW)
